With summertime quickly coming to an end, it is time to catch last minute rays. On a recent trip to Northern Michigan, I got to relax by the lake while sporting my favorite sun hat saying "Do Not Disturb". I got this from TJ Maxx for $12.99 - score! - but haven't been able to find any online that aren't $500 except for a gorgeous custom hat on Etsy for $55. My dress is the Everglades Dress from Lovers + Friends - $148 - but if you like it you need to move quick cause it is selling out fast!
When relaxing by the water I made sure to bring along my kombucha - a daily necessity for me - my Stream2Sea - an environmentally friendly sunscreen - and a great book. I highly recommend Business Boutique by Christy Wright - $24.99 for any women who are even thinking about starting their own business because it is everything you need and more! If reading isn't your thing, her podcasts are also a great tool to take advantage of. Lastly, I brought with me a gorgeous Riviera Towel - $38. These Turkish towels are great for travel and my favorite part about them is that with every purchase a portion of the sales are donated to ocean nonprofit organizations.
What are your beach necessities?

Hi and thank you for checking out my blog! I am Mari, founder of Marly Rae. Here you will find posts about my style and fashion inspirations!
Can we just talk about these pants? I mean look at them, they're gorgeous! These are the Singing In The Mountain pants - $128 from Free People. The wide leg makes them super comfortable and the skirt overlay is what makes them essentially amazing. They come in three different colors and I didn't want to wait to receive the coral in my size so I went with the brown. The only downfall is that the rayon material causes them to get easily wrinkled, but after about an half hour wearing them the wrinkles tend to fall out.
Now lets talk about the shoes cause that is my second favorite piece in this outfit. If you've checked out my wishlist, you'll have seen these shoes made the cut of going from my wishlist to my closet. These are the Chervil Slingback Sandals - $99 from Nine West in black. They have a ton going for them including the jewels, 3 1/2" block heel, and they are comfortable. I think the snake print suede adds to them which when looking at Nine West's website isn't shown very well.
I paired the pants with my favorite bodysuit also from Free People - the Bangin’ Bodysuit - $40. The small Crossbody Clutch - $175 from Coach helped tie the outfit together and I wore large gold hoop earrings to top it off. I hope y'all love this easy, breezy outfit as much as I do! Tell me your thoughts in the comments!

The Ariana Mini in Sunset Impression - $159 is one of my favorite summer pieces from Flynn Skye. The dress is conservative in the front, but the open back ads flare and flattery. The choker neck follows recent fashion trends in a way that is more suitable for summertime than other pieces I've seen attempted. The main thing I love about this dress - aside from the style - is the print. Flynn Skye seems to always have gorgeous floral prints that even non-print wearing girls like me would fall for.
Since the dress is already a statement piece in itself, I paired it with simple studs and small brown heels, but lets be honest it goes with anything! Converse, floppy hats, black, brown.. take your pick! The dress comes in a variety of prints and patterns that you can find here. What would you pair with this dress to add your unique style?

This weekend I headed up the coast to Wilmington, North Carolina to a friend from college. Wilmington is a port city on the southeast coast of NC and is known for its state parks, sandy beaches, and historic charm. It is also one of the largest cities outside of LA where movies and television shows have been filmed including Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Iron Man 3, and the Longest Ride. I had no clue what to expect, but am loving this town that seems to be abundant with life!
Saturday morning we headed downtown for coffee at Bespoke, a super cute coffee shop in the midst of the action filled with more than delicious coffee beans. They offer retail items from gorgeous succulents from Coastal Succulents lining the walls and tables to shoes from Soul Shoetique, candles, branded merchandise, and other knick-knacks. After our morning coffee we explored downtown's boutiques, boardwalk, and historic neighborhoods.
While wondering around town, I wore the Modern Femme Denim Skirt - $50 which comes in 13 different colors. If you follow me on Instagram you will notice it is one of my latest favorites and I've been wearing it a variety of ways. Comfortable and versatile. The top I am wearing is actually a part of the Westwood Set - $98 from Free People. With the top comes an off-white midi skirt featuring a slit up the side. The Cross Strap Wedge Sandals - $45 made of faux leather top off the outfit while being high enough walking is still doable. To help get in the spirit for this coming 4th of July I paired the outfit with a set of patriotic Star Shaped Hoop Earrings - $43 which is a great way to add to the outfit without being over the top.
Hope you love the look as much as I do! Make sure to shop the look below and check back next week to find out more about my trip. Happy (almost) 4th of July!

Wynwood & Bodysuits
June 24, 2017
One of my new favorite clothing obsessions is bodysuits. You see them everywhere nowadays and I can understand why; find the right one and it’s your favorite piece of clothing! Largely because you can wear them with jeans, shorts, a skirt, or even some to the beach. Most of them are fairly simple, but some bring a little flare. Not that I am complaining, simple is my ideal description when it comes to clothing because it doesn’t mean boring, it means versatile. Something that is simple you can dress up or down, pair with a fun jacket, or wear a number of different ways without people even realizing it is the same staple piece you had on last week.
My favorite bodysuit is the Bangin’ Bodysuit from Free People - $40. I ended up liking it so much I got it in two colors. Pair it with some high-waisted shorts and a flannel around your waist for casual look or a nice pair of trousers, heels, and short-cut jacket for brunch.
